The Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust offers to women enrolled at the University of Waikato or Waikato Institute of Technology awards to help them towards their academic achievements.


 
University of Waikato

Te Raranga Matauranga Award – faculty nominations
The Te Raranga Matauranga Awards of $1000 are made annually to Maori women students enrolled full time at the University of Waikato in the final year of a first undergraduate degree.
Each Faculty will be invited to nominate two candidates for the award each year. The award will not be open to applications from individual students who are not the nominees of their school or faculty.

Masters Study Award
The Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust offers annually to women students, who are enrolled fulltime at the University of Waikato for a thesis worth at least 90 points towards a Masters degree, an award of $2000.

Merit Award for Doctoral Study
The Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust offers annually to women students enrolled for the PhD at the University of Waikato, awards of $3000 a year for up to three years, subject to availability of funds.
Applicants for the Award shall be women students, who
a)            have been accepted by the Postgraduate Studies Committee of the University of Waikato for confirmed enrolment fulltime for the PhD degree for the first time in the 12 months prior to the closing date for applications for the Award;
b)            hold New Zealand citizenship or have held permanent residence for a period of at least five years.

Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust Engineering Prize
The prize will be awarded annually at the conclusion of the academic year, to the most outstanding woman student in her third year of study towards an engineering degree.
 
The choice of the prize-winner will be made by a committee of the Department of Engineering convened by the Dean of Engineering.
 
Waikato Graduate Women Charitable Trust Bisley Memorial Prize in English
The Waikato Graduate Women Charitable Trust Elizabeth Bisley Memorial Prize in English is awarded annually to a student taking English for the degree of Master of Arts.
 
Waikato Graduate Women Charitable Trust Emmy Noether Prize in Mathematics
The Waikato Graduate Women Charitable Trust Emmy Noether Prize in Mathematics is awarded annually to the most outstanding woman student in her first year of Mathematics.

Waiariki Institute of Technology Prize
The Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust offers annually to women students enrolled fulltime at the Waiariki Institute of Technology in the final year of the nursing degree programme, up to two Prizes of $1000 each.
Recipients will be selected by the Head of Nursing at Waiariki Institute of Technology in consultation
with appropriate academic staff.
 
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Prize 

The Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust offers annually to women students enrolled fulltime in the final year of a Level 6 qualification awarded by the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, two prizes of $500 each.
The Prize winners will be determined by the Director Academic at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in consultation with Heads of Department.
